HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (17-18, 8-7 SBC) travels to Mobile, Alabama, for a three-game series against the South Alabama Jaguars (22-15, 8-7 SBC) starting Friday.

  • The Herd picked up an 11-7 win in Columbus over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Wednesday.
  • Friday's scheduled starting pitcher Bryce Blevins earned Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. The senior lefty ranks in the tied for 13th nationally and for the SBC lead with six wins, 28th in walks per nine innings at 1.57 and 36th with a 5.18 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
  • Evan Bottone is third in the SBC with a .375 batting average and in on-base percentage at .485.
  • Tyler Kamerer and Cooper Hinson are tied for the team lead with 13 doubles each.
  • Kamerer also sits second in the SBC with 40 runs scored.
  • AJ Havrilla ranks eighth nationally with 38 walks during the 2026 season after drawing four at Ohio State.
 
ABOUT THE JAGUARS
  • South Alabama is coming over a series win over Georgia Southern last weekend and a midweek win over Nicholls State on Tuesday.
  • Blake Guerin leads the SBC with 13 homers as he also leads the team with 38 RBI this season.
  • Reliever Jaxson Shineflew sports a 4-1 record with a 4.03 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 45 strikeouts across 38.0 innings in 12 appearances.
