Appeared in 47 games finishing with a .299 batting average on 47 hits...scored 32 runs and had 32 RBI with nine doubles and three homers.

High School: An accomplished high school player, Gardner was a two-time 1st Team All-State selection at Hurricane High School in West Virginia.  As a senior he hit .440 with 6 home runs and 39 RBIs while also pitching 35 innings and striking out 50 with a 1.20 ERA. He played in State Championship games in each season as a prep, winning the title in 2018.
