HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall track and field will compete Saturday and Sunday in the Conference USA Indoor Championships hosted by UAB at the Birmingham Crossplex.
The meet for Marshall begins at 10:15 a.m. EST Saturday with Torie Derrow and Mariah Harmon set to compete in the pentathlon, and continues all day through the distance medley relay final at approximately 8:40 p.m. Sunday's action begins at 11 a.m. No spectators are allowed.
CUSA.tv will stream portions of the meet on each day of competition, and it is free with no subscription needed. Saturday's action can be found at the link listed here.
The Thundering Herd has finished eighth out of 13 schools at the C-USA Indoor Championships each of the past three seasons. Last season, Marshall finished with a point total of 45, which was the most in school history.
The Herd in 2020 had three All-Conference USA performances: Macie Majoy in the pole vault, Safiyyah Mitchell in the 60 meter hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay team of Mitchell, Ashonti Warner, Mikah Alleyne and Christianna Dogan.
Entering the 2021 conference meet, 13 Herd performances from throughout the indoor regular season currently rank among the top-10 in C-USA. Junior MaryAnn Adebayo in the weight throw and freshman Tori Dotson in the 800m each enter the weekend ranked first in their respective events.
The Herd seeks its first individual champion at the C-USA Indoor Championships since Kristin Smith in the 2009 pentathlon.
Nearly all track events Saturday serve as qualifiers to Sunday's finals. The top-eight finishers in each event qualify for finals on Sunday. A full list of Marshall athletes set to compete this weekend is listed below.
