HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (8-16, 2-4 Sun Belt) continues Sun Belt Conference action this weekend on the road in Boone, North Carolina, when it takes on the App State Mountaineers (15-7, 3-3 Sun Belt) beginning on Thursday.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd dropped a narrow decision, 4-2, at No. 13 Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
MU out hit the Hokies 10-6 in midweek contest.
Cam Harthan and AJ Havrilla each went 2-for-4 in Blacksburg with Harthan extending his hitting streak to eight games with a single in the top of the second.
With his 10th double of the season on Tuesday, Owen Ayers ranks third in the SBC.
Friday's probable starting pitcher Bryce Blevins sits third in the conference with a 1.49 ERA as reliever Nicholas Weyrich sits in second at 1.44.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS

App State is coming off a series win over then-ranked No. 13 Coastal Carolina in Boone last weekend.
The Mountaineers are tied for being hit by the most pitches this season in conference at 64 and rank second in scoring at nine runs per game.
CJ Boyd's 10 homers in the team's first 22 games this season rank third in the SBC.
