Marshall Baseball to Host WVU on Wednesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (11-19) closes out a four-game homestand with its final contest of 2024 against the West Virginia Mountaineers (19-12) on Wednesday at Jack Cook Field. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. start.

Herd Men's Basketball coach Cornelius Jackson will throw out the first pitch on Wednesday night.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd took its weekend series over the Texas State Bobcats this past weekend at Jack Cook Field.
Cam Harthan has reached base safely in 17 straight games.
With 13 doubles this season, Owen Ayers sits tied atop the Sun Belt and tied for 25th in the country. The senior is just 10 away from tying his program single season record of 23 set last season.
Out of the bullpen, Nicholas Weyrich has the 11th best ERA in the conference at 3.38.

WVU enters the contest on a four-game winning streak after sweeping the Kansas Jayhawks this weekend.
JJ Wetherholt returned from injury and into the lineup during the series going 5-for-13 with four RBI.
Doing it all for the Mountaineers is Reed Chumley as he leads the team with a .330 batting average, 23 RBI and eight homers.
