HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (13-14, 5-4 SBC) travels to Boone, North Carolina, to open April with a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against App State (14-13, 3-6 SBC) starting Thursday.

- The Herd fell in its midweek contest at home to the Ohio Bobcats, 5-3, on Tuesday.
- MU has the third-best batting average in the conference at .293 and ranks 65th nationally.
- Evan Bottone is second in the SBC with a .392 batting average, 62nd best in the country, and has six three-hit games this season.
- With 11 doubles, Tyler Kamerer sits fifth in the SBC and 45th in the country.
- AJ Havrilla ranks 14th nationally with 31 walks during the 2026 season. Havrilla hit his fifth homer of the season on Tuesday against the Bobcats and sits one behind Bottone's team lead of six.
- Friday's scheduled starting pitcher Bryce Blevins sits 11th in the country and second in the SBC with a 9.60 strikeout-to-walk ratio and third in conference with 48 strikeouts.

- App State got in the win column with a 17-7 midweek win over UNC Asheville on Tuesday in Boone.
- The Mountaineers rank second in the SBC with 7.9 runs per game and are tied for sixth nationally 21 sacrifice flies this season.
- Sunday's scheduled starting pitcher Gage Peterson has 54 strikeouts this season, 26th most in the country and second in the SBC.
