R-FRESHMAN SEASON (2014): Impact grew as season continued ... Played in 13 games, mostly on special teams, where he made significant contribution ... With senior middle linebacker Jermaine Holmes slowed with hamstring injury, played key position in Conference USA Championship Game against Louisiana Tech and finished with eight tackles, including 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble ... Played 208 snaps on defense, 97 of those in final three games ... Also tied for team lead for the season with two blocked kicks -- punts against Rhode Island and Old Dominion ... Block at ODU was turned into a touchdown by Brandon Byrd recovery in end zone ... Finished season with 24 tackles (nine solos), 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a pass breakup (versus Western Kentucky) ... C-USA title game was top tackles effort.

In high school, had offers from Alabama State, Carson-Newman, Gardner-Webb, Limestone and Southern ... Was not rated by Rivals as a senior prospect ... Made 109 tackles, including 67 solo stops, to lead the Indians (12-3) to the Class 4A Division I state title in 2012 ... Runs the 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds ... Has a 30-inch vertical ... Bench presses 265 pounds and squats 400 pounds ... Plans to major in accounting.
