SOPHOMORE SEASON (2024): Saw action in all 13 games in 2024 as a reserve defensive back and key contributor for the Herd. Finished the season with 37 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks. Added two pass breakups and a blocked punt against Virginia Tech. Top defensive performance of the season came in a 7-tackle performance against Old Dominion. Also matched that mark against Georgia State and added 5-tackle games against Ga. Southern and Western Michigan. Sack came against Stony Brook in the opener.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2023): Played in 11 games with 5 starts for the Herd defense as a true freshman. Finished the season with 28 tackles, including a career-best 9 tackles at South Alabama. Had first career INT in win over Arkansas State - also had 7 tackles in that game.
HERD FILE: Born July 9, 2005 ... Majoring in Business Marketing ... Two-time state champion at Christopher Columbus ... In 2022, Ahmere finished with 53 tackles while adding four interceptions and a forced fumble .. Chose Marshall over Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Florida Atlantic and Akron ... Mother is Shanta Grant.
