R-JUNIOR SEASON (2024): Played in five games with four starts in 2024 before a foot injury ended his season early. Caught 20 passes for 194 yards and 3 TDs for the Herd, proving to be one of the team's most viable options at receiver. Best game for the Herd came against national power Ohio State when he caught 8 passes for 68 yards and a TD. Also caught three passes for 50 yards and 2 TDs against Stony Brook. Also was the team's primary punt returner in his five games, returning 10 punts for 92 yards.
HERD FILE: Metcalf comes to Marshall from Middle Tennessee where he was a standout receiver for the Blue Raiders. In 2023, Metcalf led the team with 54 receptions for 634 yards and five touchdowns. That figure included a career-high 11 receptions against Colorado State. The Charlotte, N.C. native also had four receptions for 115 yards and two scores against Jacksonville State. Metcalf has played in 29 games in three years with Middle Tennessee, making 13 career starts. He is a former three-star prospect from Mallard Creek (N.C.)
