2024 (R-Jr.) - Braxton appeared in 11 games, taking over as the starting quarterback against App State. He finished the season 124 of 206 for 1,624 yards and 19 TDs with just 2 INTs while also rushing for 610 yards and 4 TDs - numbers which led him to being named the 2024 SBC Newcomer of the Year and the 2024 All-SBC Second Team Quarterback.
In his first start, Braxton earned SBC Offensive Player of the Week honors when he accounted for 269 total yards and five touchdowns. Braxton rushed 15 times for 140 yards and 2 TDs while finishing 8 of 14 through the air for 129 yards and 3 TDs in the win. Braxton later earned another SBC Offensive Player of the Week award following the Herd's win at Old Dominion when he accounted for 350 total yards (140 rushing, 210 passing) and three passing TDs.
Braxton finished the season 8-0 as the Herd's starting quarterback and led the team to a 7-game winning streak to end the 2024 season. Over the final four games of the season, Marshall had just one turnover.
HERD FILE: Braxton comes to Marshall from Tulsa where he played in 19 career games with eight starts. During his career with the Golden Hurricane, Braxton completed 114 of 219 passes for 1,345 yards and 12 touchdowns. Also rushed for 348 yards with six touchdowns. Out of high school, had 15 offers, including Hawaii, Coastal Carolina, Memphis, ULM and Southern Miss, among others.
