HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall track and field returns to Charlotte for the second time this season for the Charlotte Invitational. The two-day meet begins Friday at 2 p.m.
Meet attendance is closed to the general public.
Marshall will compete against eight other schools: Charlotte, Appalachian State, Davidson, Duke, South Carolina, USC Upstate, Wake Forest and Winthrop.
The Herd is back in action for the first time since Saturday, April 10 at the Gamecock Invitational. Macie Majoy (pole vault) and Mikah Alleyne (400 meter) each broke school records in their respective events. The duo had also broke those same school records two weeks prior to that at the Adidas Winthrop Invitational.
It is the second time the Herd competes at Conference USA competitor Charlotte. Marshall opened the 2021 outdoor season at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center on Charlotte's campus back in March. Thundering Herd athletes won three events at that meet, and Tori Dotson broke the 18-year old school record in the 800m.
