LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marshall track and field completed the regular season at the Kentucky Invitational Saturday at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
Abby Herring broke into the top-five personal record list in the 1500 meter run after several close attempts. She finished 13th out of 46 in the event with a time of 4:39.06. Her PR is the third-best in school history and is under two seconds off the 2004 school record time of 4:37.99 set by Varinka Barbini.
Rebecca Merritt hit a huge personal record in the discus. She finished seventh with a top throw of 45.66 meters (149 feet, 10 inches). Her PR is the fourth-best personal record in school history in the event.
Safiyyah Mitchell qualified for the 100m hurdles finals in a strong field of 38 athletes. She finished sixth in the finals with a time of 13.88.
Lauren Zaglifa matched her school record clearance set one week ago, clearing a top height of 3.97 meters (13 feet, 0.25 inches) to finish third.
MaryAnn Adebayo earned a 10th place finish in the shot put with a top throw of 13.07m (42 ft. 10.75 in.).
