Summer League: Played for the Ohio Warhawks for one season...was a member of the National Championship winning team in 2011 with teammate Eric Escobedo.
High School: Played at Woodside High School where he compiled 21 wins and only four losses...won all-district honorable mention in 2009, second team all-district in 2010, and first team all-district, first team all-region, and first team all-state in senior season...struck out 164 hitters (142 IP) in his last two seasons on the hill.
Personal: Born on Sept. 12, 1993...son of Jim and Sandra Mays...maintained a 3.79 grade-point average at Woodside HS...has a younger brother, Keith...majoring in secondary education (history).
