PRIOR TO MARSHALL: Born April 5, 1998 … Plans to major in Anthropology at MU … Also offered by FBS member Montana … As 2015 senior, made 66 receptions for 818 yards and nine TDs; also rushed 31 times for 299 yards and two scores … Was Division I All-State honorable mention at wideout … In 2014 junior season, helped Liberty high to state Division II title game with 44 catches for 747 yards and 10 touchdowns, and was Arizona Football Coaches Association Division II all-State pick … Spent first two seasons at Peoria Centennial high before transferring … Was 5-foot-3, 145 pounds as freshman … Father, Chris Jackson, starred at Washington State (1,000-yard receiver in 1997 as a favorite target of Ryan Leaf) and played in Rose Bowl, later starring in the Arena League (1,004 receptions, 325 TDs, 2-time league Offensive MVP) after several seasons on NFL practice squads … Former Herd receivers coach Mike Furrey’s Arena League connections with Chris Jackson helped bring Deyton to Marshall.
