PRIOR TO MARSHALL: Born Oct. 20, 1996 … Majoring in Safety Technology at MU … All-MACJC (Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges) second team place-kicker … At East Mississippi in 2015, booted 58-of-62 PATs and was 6-of-11 on field goals, with a long of 43 yards; also averaged 39 yards per punt, with a long of 52 and six inside the 20 … As senior at Biloxi High, hit 41-of-47 PAT attempts and 4-of-8 on field goals, for 53 points … Had 25 touchbacks on 52 kickoffs and averaged 33-plus yards per punt … As senior, was 247Sports All-State third team selection … Older brother, former North Alabama kicker Taylor Pontius, was free agent signee by Indianapolis Colts in 2015, but was released in preseason camp.
